The number of dogs available for adoption and their sex and age varies from week to week.

Can you help the Malamutes? If you can foster a dog short-term until a home is found, please email the club.
The most common scenario requiring foster homes is when there is a dog in Emergency status (e.g. at the Pound with an imminent euthanasia deadline) and we need a place for that dog to stay short-term (sometimes a week or more, sometimes only a few days). Anybody with a secure area in their yard in which they could put a rescue dog at short notice, please contact the club. Often this can make the difference beween life or death for these dogs, as boarding kennels won't accept them without vaccination records.
Malamute Rescue is funded solely by donations - if you can help us help the Malamutes by contributing to the Rescue Fund, please contact the club.
DOGS WE HAVE REHOMEDHere are the photographs and stories of lucky Malamutes that have found loving new homes.
DO YOU HAVE A MALAMUTE THAT NEEDS A HOME?First of all click on this link and read the article: "You Can't Keep Your Dog..."
We have a policy of always referring dogs back to their breeders wherever possible, so if you have a phone number or address for the person who bred your dog, please contact them as well as us. If you purchased your Malamute through a pet shop contact us for advice.
We cannot and do not pay money for dogs - if you want to sell your dog then do so through the appropriate channels. Recommended places to advertise include through your vets, in the Trade & Exchange, on www.petsonthenet.co.nz etc.
Please keep in mind that there are surprising numbers of people in New Zealand who buy entire (un-neutered/spayed) Malamutes and breed them to make money. These people do not treat their animals well. Your un-spayed dog is AT RISK - we strongly recommend you spay/neuter before selling.
If the NAMC are involved in rehousing a Malamute please be aware that we reserve the right to charge a $150.00 fee (covering advertising, petrol and other expenses such as toll calls etc).
If you have an emergency, a time limit, or are considering surrendering your Malamute to the Pound or SPCA then please contact us first. We may be able to prevent your pet from being put to sleep.
Please fill out the form at the bottom of the page, include your name, location and contact phone numbers.
