Shaman
In Loving Memory of our dear Shaman
1st April 2000 – 30th June 2009

Memories are Golden
They say memories are golden,
Well, maybe that is true.
I never wanted memories, I only wanted you.

A million times I needed you,
A million times I cried,
If love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you held a place no one could ever fill.

If tears could build a stairway,
And heartache made a lane,
I’d walk the path to heaven,
And bring you back again.

Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same.
But as god calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.

(Author Unknown)

Rest in peace our dear girl
– love you always –
Love Dave, Rachel and Nikita Mundy

Seawolf Windance Kezsa  - Kesha
Born 28th of May 1998 one of 7 pups to  Cheyenne of Hootalinqua & Seawolf Kaden Rum'N'Koke (Herne).
Kesha was a very special girl, loved by all she met & friends to many other animals (except her sister Seeka & 2 nieces Storm & Breyze).
She was social to all other dogs & was very welcome to stay at the local boarding kennels as she just blended in with who ever. Kesha had a accident at 2 yrs old & was left with life long injuries to her front legs which restricted her from an active life! Sadly, this took its toll on Kesha in the end & we had to set her free from this life as the pain got too much for her & it was cruel to keep her going just for us!!   On the 30th of April we said our last good bye to our beautiful girl Kesha. She has been noticeably missed by her Dad Herne as they were always together! Run free now Kesha, run like you've never run before! You will always have a special place in our hearts!
We will always love you, Deb, Tony, Dylan, Max & Angie Larsen

Hootaliqua Liberty Bel - Libby
18.05.1998 - 10.03.09
I remember a trip to Levin one day and we were given Libby. She was up for re-house and we had fallen into her hands. Poor Libby she had come from a horrible home, she was not loved and smelled very bad. Gary and I after a few moments decided that she would be very much loved at our place and what was one more Malamute.
We started with a nice warm bath, with pegs on our noses and then into the run with Maverick. Libby would only go about 2 feet and stop she could not believe that she had a run that was forever long. We decided to show Libby but this was not for her. We thought ok we will race you, oh no that’s not for me either, but what Libby could do was to be the BEST MUM in the whole world. She gave us some beautiful puppies and I remember when she had her first litter with Maverick, all they could do when she
was in labour was to lick each others lips.
So now I have to tell you all that Libby died on the 10.3.09,
while we were sleeping, she slipped away and didn't even make a
noise. To our dear friend and much loved Alsakan Malamute
Thank you for all the wonderful times and you were no trouble
at all, we miss you and I know Maverick misses you.
To Peter and Josie thank you so much for Libby we loved her
so much.

Rob, Natasha, Jorja, Lexi, Mishka & Neo DAVEY
We are saddened to advise of the passing of Australian Alaskan Malamute owners, Rob & Tash Davey, their young daughters Jorja & Lexi and malamutes Neo & Mishka.

Unfortunately the Davey family did not survive the horrific bush fires that devastated their home in Kinglake, Victoria over the weekend.

Rob & Tash were long standing club and committee members of the Alaskan Malamute Club of Victoria. They were very active in the sled dog arena, racing their "Malindiko" dogs from the Windchill Kennels. They were personally known by a number of NAMC Club Members.

NAMC extends their condolences to the AMCV and the families & friends of Rob & Natasha. They will be sorely missed and we are all saddned by the loss.

Please support victims of the Australian bushfires by making donations (details below) or by entering the virtual international dog show.

BISS Ch Wolfsong the High Flier, WSD, WTD, WWPDX - Rufus
In memory of RUFUS
May 1995 to December 2008

Companion and friend to Ann & Clive Coulson

Rufus was many things in his eventful life show dog, racing dog and weight puller, but most of all he was a much loved companion to us both.

Rufus starred as a show dog in his youth, with time out to run in harness as a single dog, and in partnership with Minn first, then his daughters Maggie and Tina.

Weightpulling came later in life, as he refused to pull in competition (though he always qualified) until after Bruno died. Bruno was the dominant male in our kennels and Rufus kept his place. Starting with a demonstration in 2003, and competitions starting in 2004, he went from strength to strength, pulling over 1 tonne at the age of 10 years in 2005.

Born into our hands, he died peacefully in our arms, loved and treasured to the end.

Rest in Peace dear Rufus,
BISS Ch Wolfsong the High Flier, WSD, WTD, WWPDX.

IF IT SHOULD BE

If it should be that I grow frail and weak,
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then you must do what must be done,
For this last battle cannot be won.

You will be sad - I understand,
Don't let your grief then stay your hand,
For this day, more than all the rest,
Your love and friendship stand the test.

We've had so many happy years,
What is to come-can have no fears,
You'd not want me to suffer so,
When the time comes , please let me go.

Take me where my needs they'll tend ,
Only stay with me until the end,
And hold me firm and speak to me,
Until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time you too will see,
It is a kindness you do for me,
Although my tail it's last has waved,
From pain and suffering I've been saved.

Don't grieve that it should be you,
Who has to decide this thing to do,
We've been so close, we two these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

"Star" loved by Liz Flyger & family

Amaruit Lady n'Gold - Cheyenne
9/05/04 - 3/07/08

On 3 July 2008 my life took a devastating turn. Cheyenne was tragically taken from me, way too early in her life and i was left to care for her 8 babies who were only 9 days old! Needless to say, 4 weeks later and many bottles, bum wipes and sleepless nights, Nana appears to have raised them all with sucess.

I would like to thank Debs & Tony from Seawolf kennels for all the emails and support over this very emotional time. also thank you to Josie and Peter for their help and support with my loss. To all mally families on the trademe thread, a big thank you to you all, i am sorry that i didnt respond to you all, but my heart is so broken, still now this is very hard to write! To Pet Farewells in Hamilton, thank you for the wonderful support and loving care you took of my girl on her final trip to be cremated, and the lovely keepsakes that i recieved back with her ashes.

Finally to Sonja Brown, a huge thank you for breeding me the most awesome friend, soul mate, companion and pet any one could ever ask for! I am so grateful that i perservered with that howling puppy on the trip home, when at the time, i thought i was totally crazy!!!

To my dearest cheyenne: forever in my heart, it is better to have loved and lost you, than never to have loved you at all! Wait for me at rainbow bridge, i will be there with you one day, and we can love and laugh again xoxox
